Online Shop For Garden | Nymphaea 'Rose Nymph' - Pink Water LilyThe Nymphea 'Rose Nymph' is a free flowering pink water lily, suited best to small or medium sized ponds. With a spread of just 1 - 3 foot it is more petite than many species, but its beautiful pink flowers make up for its size. Note: All water lilies are supplied bare root ready for you to pot. Care Information: Ideally all lilies should be planted into mesh planting baskets or crates. 2 - 10Litre containers are best, depending on the particular water lilies eventual size. The best soil to use is ordinary heavy garden loam free from all chemicals.Sandy soil, chalk, raw clay, peat and compost should not be used as a planting medium. Planting Instructions: * Fill the basket full of soil, firm this into the pot. * Place the rhizome on the surface of the soil with any shoots pointing upwards. * Adda lily fertilizer tablet next to the rhizome. * Fill with soil, ensuring that you firmly press this into place, so that only the part of the rhizome with shoots is exposed. * Top dress with 1-2cm washed pea gravel to protect the plant from any unwanted attention from fish. * Always introduce a new plant in stages, never place a new plant straight into the maximum depth of water. For a young plant, or new introduction, there should be no more than 20-25cms of water over the gravel. * With larger lilies gradually lower the basket as the leaves grow until the required depth is achieved. * NEVER place your lily beneath a fountain, near your pump/filtration inlet/outlets or other moving water. this will eventually kill them. TIP: To obtain the greatest number of flowers each year you should place your plant in the sunniest area of your pond. Lilies prefer warm, sunny conditions, so you will always produce more flowers regardless of species if your lily is no deeper than 45-60cms deep (to the top of the basket).
