Prunus 'Accolade' - flowering cherry

This flowering cherry is a cross between prunus sargentii and prunus subhirtella. It has profusion of pale pink, semi-double flowers which open from deep pink buds in mid spring. Leaves are dark green, to 10 cm long. It forms an irregular, wide crown, ideal as a specimen. It does not need much maintenance, it likes moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soil, and a lot of space.

For good flowering and autumn leaf colour find it a sunny location.
