Genista lydia - Woadwaxen

Family: Fabaceae; (Genis-ta: ancient Latin name: tinctoria: of dyes); A profusion of bright yellow flowers drape this low arching beauty in May and June. Attractive green stems. Proven to be very hardy by Paul Cappielo's research at the University of Maine. Adaptable to poor dry soils. Thrives in heat.
