Scadoxus multiflorus - African Blood Lily

Very unique and plant originating from India. Large ball shaped red flowers on strong stems with clusters of thick, fleshy leaves. Ideal as a container plant, kept in sun or partial shade, and treated the same as an Amaryllis. Thrives in moist areas such as ponds. Not cold hardy. Hardy in Zone: 9 & 10. Height: 10-1


Grow as a greenhouse or house plant. Use a planting mixture of peat moss and sand. Keep warm (70 degrees) during the day and cool (55 degrees at night. After leaves appear, water thoroughly and feed. After flowering, water moderately until October then let the plant dry out in a cool dry place until January. Do not repot. Replace old soil on the top and start watering.
