Lavatera thuringiaca 'Barnsley'

A very popular and valuable shrubby perennial, useful for filling a large area quickly or for giving a new garden an established look. The large silky trumpet-shaped flowers are produced for months through summer. They open white with a red eye, fading to pink. Foliage is a somewhat felted grey. Trim in autumn. Plant in full sun. Grows 5-6 feet tall. Hardy in zones 5-10. Prefers a warm, sheltered position.
