Meconopsis x sheldonii 'Lingholm' - Blue Poppy, Himalayan Poppy

Meconopsis x sheldonii 'Lingholm' (also known as Himalayan Blue Poppy) is a very robust poppy. It is native to eastern Tibet, eastern Nepal to India and Bhutan. In the summer, shallow-cupped, rich blue flowers appear that are 4 to 5 inches across. The anthers are a golden yellow colour. The Himalayan Poppies have a reputation of being hard to grow. Actually, they are quite easy to grow in the right conditions. They do well mounded in moderately rich, peaty, well drained soil in shade to semi-shade. Hardy in zones 4-9.
