Satsuki Azaleas for Bonsai and Azalea Enthusiasts

Bob Callaham provides us with something never before seen in English; a complete celebration of satsuki, rich with photographs, how-to instructions, fascinating facts, and an unrivaled encyclopedia of over 1,600 cultivars (this alone is worth the books price). All of this adds up to a rare treasure indeed.

After receiving a doctorate in botany from the University of California at Berkeley, Robert Z. Callaham undertook a 50-year professional career. He began as a forest geneticist and worked for 14 years as an international consultant on forestry research. In these capacities, he authored nearly 100 publications on forestry and related subjects. He is currently the newsletter editor for the East (San Francisco) Bay Bonsai Society and the Bay Area Satsuki Aikokai, a club that specializes in satsuki bonsai. Bob has an impressive collection of satsuki azaleas and has written numerous articles on growing, styling, and displaying bonsai. Nearly every page of this comprehensive book is packed with dramatic color photos.
